Kelly’s Plan

Kelly's Plan for Kitchener Centre

Every voice in Kitchener Centre matters, and every story holds weight. Kelly has dedicated her life to listening, understanding, and acting on the concerns of our community. It’s this dedication that shapes her vision for our future – a future where everyone in Kitchener Centre thrives.

Protecting Public Healthcare

Kelly is committed to ensuring that Kitchener Centre has a healthcare system that is both publicly funded and meets the needs of our growing community. Collaborating with health coalitions and supporting Patients Not Profits, Kelly is fighting to keep healthcare safe, secure, and free from profit-driven motives. Kelly is ready to tackle the administrative burdens and paperwork that are keeping our family physicians from spending time where it matters most—with their patients.

Kelly is also concerned about how our seniors are cared for. She is committed to ensuring that they receive compassionate and personalized care so that they can remain at home for as long as they are able.

Housing for All

In a city that's rapidly growing, Kelly sees the urgent need for affordable and inclusive housing. She's devoted to working alongside the municipal government to break down the barriers that stand in the way of accessible housing for everyone. The Housing and Affordability Task Force provided many great recommendations that will help us move forward. Kelly commits to keeping the pressure on to ensure the implementation of ALL recommendations in a manner that is transparent and is there for the benefit of all Ontario residents.

Kelly believes that we are better when we work together. Kelly is dedicated to enhancing safeguards and assistance for renters, while also ensuring that small-scale landlords who contribute rental housing are supported within our local economy. She pledges to work towards making the Landlord and Tenant Board more responsive and user-friendly, striking a fair balance for all parties involved.

Building upon the Ontario Liberal Party's legacy of safeguarding and expanding the Greenbelt, Kelly is determined to restore the role of conservation authorities that the current government has taken away. She champions a clear and accountable approach to environmental governance, one that decisively influences our climate and our standard of living.

The countryside line is a treasure that Kelly is determined to preserve. She advocates for smart urban development, focusing on building up around transit hubs while protecting our agricultural land and focusing on our quality of life. Kelly stands with our micro farmers and local agriculture, recognizing their crucial role in our community.

Investing in Safe & Supportive Schools

It's essential to ensure our educators and support staff feel valued and are supported. This means committing to smaller class sizes, engaging in equitable bargaining that respects our teachers, and eradicating the waitlists for special education to ensure every student has the support they need.

Every child deserves to feel safe and supported at school. Every educator and support staff need to feel safe in their workplace where they care for and teach our children and youth. Kelly has heard the concerns of our youth and will take action to ensure our schools are secure and our teachers have the environment they need to educate. Collaborating with police and mental health organizations, Kelly will work towards a comprehensive strategy to address safety and well-being in our schools.

Disability Support and Recognition of Persons with Disabilities

Kelly is committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities are not overlooked. She advocates for the revitalization of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) to guarantee that the rights and needs of those living with disabilities are prioritized and met.

Kelly is in support of Feed Ontario and the local food banks call upon the current government to end legislated poverty and increase social assistance rates under both Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program to the poverty line.

Proven Leadership. Proven Service. Proven Community Commitment.

With over 21 years of municipal experience and a strong background in non-profit work, Kelly is a leader who is not afraid to speak up and stand for what is right. She's been on the ground, connecting people and resources to make progress in our community. Kelly is ready to take her passion and experience to Queen’s Park and be the voice Kitchener Centre needs.
